EVERYONE is invited to participate in the Lynnfield Library 2021
Summer Reading Program!

We have many fun events planned and we hope to see you at in-person and virtual programs this summer! This year’s theme is “Tails and Tales,” and we’re excited to hear about what you read and the stories you tell!

We will be kicking off Summer Reading with a virtual event on Wednesday, July 7 at 11:00 a.m. Talewise will be sharing their program “Unicorns: Break the Cage” over Zoom, so everyone can enjoy watching it at home! We’ll also be having an in-person ice cream party to celebrate the start of Summer Reading on Thursday, July 8. Join us from 2:30-4:00 on the Lynnfield Common to enjoy some J.P. Licks ice cream.

Additional programs include art classes, magic shows, concerts, and more – including a special visit from bestselling author Stuart Gibbs on July 14! If you like Spy School, Charlie Thorne, Funjungle, Moon Base Alpha, or any other amazing books by Stuart Gibbs, come listen to him talk and ask him any questions you have.

Can You Read More Than a Librarian?

We have a new game for our Summer Reading Program this year! Children, teens, adults, and library staff will be racing as teams to see who can read the most books.  Sign up online or at the library.  Then, just log your books online or in person and stop by throughout the summer to check your team’s progress. The game will be on the bulletin board outside the Children’s Room. Which team do you think will win?

Reading Log

You have a choice of two reading logs this summer. You can print them out or pick up a copy of either at the library. Start filling out your log on July 7 when our Summer Reading program starts, and make sure you let us know how many books you read throughout the summer. You don’t have to fill out a reading log to participate in our Summer Reading program, but we recommend it! Here are your reading log options:

To submit the number of books you’ve read and help your team reach 250 books, fill out this form or come to the Library to fill out a form in person.

Prizes

We will be holding raffle drawings for prizes throughout the summer. Here are all the raffles:

  • Register for summer reading (1 entry)
  • During registration, guess the number of books that Lynnfield as a whole will log this summer (Closest guess wins)
  • Submit the number of books you’ve read (1 entry per submission)
  • Include book reviews with your submission (1 entry per review)
  • Share your pets and their reads on social media with the hashtag #LynnfieldPets (1 entry per post)
