The Lynnfield Library will be running our annual Food for Fines drive from September 1st through September 30th this year. Due to the overwhelming amount of food donations received by Haven from Hunger in Peabody during the holiday months, we’ve decided to run our drive earlier, when contributions are fewer.
As usual, the Library will forgive $1.00 in overdue fines for every canned item (applies to Lynnfield fines only and does not include overdue fines for DVD/videos or lost/damaged items). Examples of needed non-perishable items: peanut butter, tuna fish, canned fruit and vegetables, canned meats and beans, pasta, baby food and soup. Boxed cereals, containers of baby formula, and diapers are worth $4.00! Book Clubs and other community organizations are encouraged to participate. Simply drop your items off at the Library, and we’ll be sure to get them to the Haven from Hunger.
NO perishable or expired items, PLEASE!
We will be accepting donations from September 1, 2013 – September 30, 2013.
We will not be running the driving again in December.
